The life of the believer must be a life of continuous progress. The reason is that God Himself is a god of progress. He is not stuck at the same point forever, and that is also the reason He’s happy when the believer’s life advances. And the earlier you come to peace with this reality the better for you. It is high time you eliminated your concern about what others have said about you prospering in Christ. You can never remain poor in Christ- that’s an error. It is written in 2 Corinthians 8:9 that. “for ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” This is your assurance so do not belittle your mind to think big and aid you to achieve the greatness you desire.

In the previous parts, we’ve learned about the ant and how it has no leader and guide but makes progress in its life. So it is incumbent on you, the believer, to do everything endorsed by God to have your life move forward. We also learned about six things to do to make our lives move forward. We end the series today with the remaining five points on how to move your life forward.

FIVE WAYS TO MOVE YOUR LIFE FORWARD

  1. Hard work.

You cannot move your life forward if you’re not hardworking. Success isn’t given on a silver platter; it isn’t given to the lazy either. It comes to those who work intelligently and vigorously in the little field they find themselves in. So to achieve greatness you must work very hard. God doesn’t approve the lazy. He says in Proverbs 10:4 that, “the slack hand causes poverty but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” In life promotion doesn’t come to the lazy, it comes to those who are always looking for the opportunity to do something. Jesus Christ whilst on earth was working hard for the advancement of the kingdom so why will you want to be lazy? It is wrong to sit aloofly and not do anything and expect God to come through for you. He has said it that He doesn’t approve the slothful so work towards your goals with all your might and intellect. Enough of the long talks because talking without action leads to poverty.

  1. Seek knowledge. 2 Timothy 2:15

When it comes to moving your life forward as a Christian you must endeavour to seek knowledge. When we seek knowledge of both spiritual and physical things, we’re blessed with a greater understanding of who we are as children of a loving God, who wants us to grow and develop. Knowledge gives us the courage and ability to tackle the challenges of life with confidence. People who continually seek opportunities for learning and growing are better prepared to compete for new or better opportunities in the world. The people the world endorses are those who are extra knowledgeable. If you want to beat the system of the world you must seek extra knowledge. You cannot afford to have the same knowledge as your competitor. There’s always a better way to do something so fill that knowledge gap if you want your life to move forward.

  1. Have faith. Hebrews 11:1-6 & Hebrews 11:32-35

As a Christian you cannot afford not to have faith if you want to move your life forward. Having faith is a sign that God is in your life. One bitter truth you must understand and accept is that you can never be successful on your own. You need God to make it possible and that’s the reason your faith in Him must be strong and unwavering. The challenges of life are overwhelming such that if you do not have faith you’ll fall flat to the temptations that stare at you in the face. Faith causes you to act on what you haven’t experienced yet, to believe promises in the bible that haven’t been fulfilled yet, and to trust God when your situation hasn’t changed yet. So you really need to have faith in the Lord else the devil will defeat you.

  1. Hebrews 6:12-15

Advancement doesn’t come at a go. It takes time and sometimes a longer time. You need the patience to wait to see it all realized. A lot of Christians have gone ahead of God because they lacked the patience to wait. But you must not go ahead of God. Develop that patience to wait with good attitude despite the discomfort and longsuffering. When you develop patience it pleases God. When things are not going the way you expect them to go, look for ways to fill your life up with a positive outlook regarding your circumstances.

  1. Never give up.

Many give up easily on their dreams. When nothing happens as expected or prayers go unanswered for a long time, complaints and murmurs arise. But in such a situation, a fighting spirit and firmness of purpose is essential. Even in the midst of adversity, hold tight to God’s promises. You must develop the spirit of never giving up on anything if you really want to see your life moving forward. Your beginning might be small but that should not give you the impression that all hope is lost. Those who cling onto to the belief that there’s definitely light at the end of the tunnel indeed lives to see that light. Continue to work towards your dreams despite the delay in results.

In conclusion, you must understand that God is happy to see your life move forward as a believer. It doesn’t matter what you do as a business or job. All He wants to see in your life is advancement. However, this advancement won’t be given to you on a silver platter, you also have responsibilities to make it possible. These responsibilities include but not limited to you developing a personal relationship with God, discovering your God given assignment, knowing who you are in Christ, focusing on your God given assignment, etc.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your infallible word of power that transforms lives. I pray that by the knowledge of this word my life will move forward. I declare that henceforth my relationship, marriage, business, career, business, education and everything that concerns me will prosper, in Jesus Christ name. Amen
