If there’s one thing that impoverishes you then it is the deep rooted mind-set that it is abominable for you and your descendants to come out of poverty. Many times our situations don’t get to change because of our mind-set, and our mind-set is formed based on the things we constantly hear. And such is what excites the enemy (devil). Listen up, your oppressor, the devil, doesn’t ever want to see you prosper or come out of poverty. The reason is that when you become prosperous in the Lord he gets nothing to hate you for. And as long as you’re poor you remain a constant slave to the rich. Bible makes us understand in Proverbs 22:7 that the borrower is a slave to the lender.

As a believer you must gulp this bitter truth—your prosperity doesn’t come from the systems of the world. What this simply means is that you don’t prosper by what you do. You prosper by the spirit of God. Deuteronomy 8:18 admonishes us to remember the Lord our God because it is He who gives us the power to make wealth. It will only take the spirit of God to make you a billionaire no matter how little the business you’re engaged in is. As a Christian you must understand that you serve a God who neither sleeps nor slumbers. He rewards those who diligently seek Him. Why? Because He has said in Haggai 2:8 that silver and gold are His.

One of the things the devil is good at doing is to convince you to accept that your condition can’t change to anything better. But our Lord Jesus Christ comes to make us understand that with Him all things are possible. God is interested in your prosperity and that’s why He made a promise to your forefathers. You must reclaim this promise and walk in it.

FIVE REASONS WHY YOU MUST PROSPER

  1. You must prosper because you were created in the image and likeness of God. Genesis 1:26

God created neither a white man nor a black man. He created man (a human being). So don’t think that God created some special and others non-special. God did not create anyone superior to the other or anyone better than the other. He created every one of us in His own image and likeness. It is not about our physical features but who we’re in the spirit. When God created man He gave him dominion over all the things on the earth. If you’ll come to this realisation everything about you will begin to change.

  1. You must prosper because in Christ Jesus you’ve access to all things. Ephesians 2:4-10, 2 Peter 1:3.

In Christ Jesus we’ve access to long life, good health, peace of mind, prosperity, etc. You’re created in Christ Jesus to do mighty works. If you don’t become bold of who you’re in Christ the devil will overtake you. Whatever you think about God will enable you to do it.

  1. You must prosper so that you can support the work of God. Acts 4

When you decide that you want to prosper in this life to support God’s work, He dispatches angels in your favour. God kingdom grows mightily when believers support it financially. So God is looking for such people to bless so that His kingdom will continue to grow.

  1. You must prosper so as to feed the poor. Matthew 25:34-40

Heaven rejoices when the poor are fed. If all you think about is yourself and your family then you’ve business becoming rich. When you’re in Christ your portion is to help others. There’s more blessing in giving than receiving. God is interested in you feeding the poor. So you must have the mind-set of a giver.

  1. You must prosper because you must be comfortable. Joel 2:26, Psalm 84:11

One of the painful things in life is to be denied the basic things of life—food, shelter, clothing, etc. God want you to live a comfortable life. He wants you to be in the position to afford the things you desire. You must prosper because comfort is good. Poverty is not swag. It robs you of happiness and comfort.

In conclusion, you must do everything there’s in the Lord to prosper. God has already deposited in you the power to prosper at everything you do. Reshape your mind-set and understand the Lord rejoices in your prosperity.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for the grace to be prosperous. I thank You for depositing in me the power to create wealth so as to be able to support your work, feed the poor and live a comfortable life. I pray that You break every limitation that’s making it impossible to be prosperous in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
