Unusual Blessings
It is a good thing to receive of the blessings of God. As believers, it is important that we get to the point in our lives where being blessed by our Creator is something that could be referred to as basic. It is not out of place for the Christian to experience mind blowing testimonies, signs and wonders and miracles. In 1 Peter 2:9, the bible describes believers as a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that we may declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His wonderful light. It is God’s desire that He’ll bless His children with unusual blessings. In our anchor scripture, we’re made to understand it is the blessing of the Lord which makes one rich and He adds no sorrow with it; not by our might. Anything that’s unusual is anything that is different from what is usual or normal; such a thing is also different from other similar things and therefore is interesting and attractive. Being blessed by God is His way of helping and protecting you. And to be blessed by Him is to have these things such as great ability, great happiness, divine wealth, financial prosperity, etc. Genesis 22:17-19, Hebrews 6:14-20, Genesis 12:2.
5 THINGS YOU NEED TO DO IF YOU WANT TO WALK IN THE UNUSUAL BLESSINGS OF GOD
- Believe in God and His prophets. 2 Chronicles20:20.
Your belief in God is what will cause Him to move and bypass a million people to come to your aid. To believe is to have confidence in the truth, the existence or the reliability of something although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so. When we believe strongly in God we have the blessing of achieving success, breakthroughs, miracles, signs and wonders, and the desires of our hearts.
- Purity, Humility, Holiness and the fear of the Lord. Hebrews 12:14, Proverbs 22:4, Proverbs 19:23. Proverbs 14:34, Proverbs 10:16, Proverbs 10:6, 2 Timothy 2:19.
To walk in the unusual blessings of God requires a life of purity, holiness and the fear of the Lord. A life of holiness can pave the way for greater intimacy in our relationship with God. King David, described as a “man after God’s own heart” (Acts 13:22), understood the connection between a holy life and experiencing God’s presence. Unholy living floods believers’ lives with the natural consequences of sin, including distance and strain in our relationships with God. But a pursuit of holiness is also a pursuit of God. As we embrace the holy life God calls us to receive of His blessings. By humility in the fear of God, you attract the Lord’s blessings. God is holy so all those who walk with Him must do so in holiness and in purity.

To attract the unusual blessings of the Lord, you must strive to also do the unusual, which includes sacrifice. Every level in God demands an unusual sacrifice. It’s by sacrifice that we shift gears in the realms of the spirit. Somehow, when we give to God we’re able to strangely retain what is given and have the increase and the blessing too. We must however, be careful never to give with the selfish idea of receiving, but when we sacrifice, we do in a sense trust God to replace what is given, in his own time and in his own way of course.
4. Matthew 6:9, 2 Chronicles 26:5-7, 1 Corinthians 16:9.
The life of Christian is a journey to eternity, and we grease this journey with prayer. To receive of the unusual blessings of the Lord, you must prayer a lifestyle. You must pray often and you must pray always. Prayer is the key that unlocks the blessings of God. God has the power and wisdom to use our prayers as he sees fit and to do what we could never imagine.
- Proverbs 13:2-4, Proverbs 18:21.
The tongue has power over life and death; those who indulge it must eat its fruit. The words that come out of your mouth every single has the power to make or unmake you. You change situations with words so be mindful of the daily confessions you make. Let what come out of your mouth be positive, when you feel sick, say to yourself that you’re well; when you’re poor, say to yourself that you’re rich. Our words do have power and they can change our lives for the better.
What you say can either preserve life or destroy it.
THINGS TO DEAL WITH IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE UNUSUAL BLESSINGS IN YOUR LIFE.

Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we often might win, by fearing to attempt. Doubts are most often just monsters in our heads that our minds may use to keep us from making changes and to keep us within the comfort zones. Don’t beat yourself up when things aren’t working in your favour. Rather, move forward, see every failure as a temporal means to a successful end.
- 2 Timothy 1:7
God has not given us the spirit of fear so we must do everything positive to overcome our fears. Fears come to cripple our minds into thinking that there’s nothing good that can come out of us.
- Laziness
The nemesis of achievers is laziness. Laziness is pervades success. So anytime you feel lazy to do something worthwhile, get up on your feet and do it. Don’t procrastinate, work hard and don’t entertain laziness.
In conclusion, you must understand that God desires to pour down His blessings on You. However, to make this a reality, you must endeavour to believe in Him, live a holy life, pray always, give out in sacrifice to Him and confess positive things on a daily basis.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your word. I’m glad to know that You desire to bless Your children. I pray that in this month of September, I receive of Your unusual blessings. Whatever that will try to rob me of Your blessings in this month, I cancel it in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
